A rare oil on canvas from Vincenzo D’Esposito (1866-1946) depicting a group of fishermen in southern Italian or Maltese folkloristic garb on a sandy shore pulling in their nets. D’Esposito was a genre land/seascape Maltese artist who did largely small guaches, typically of scenes around Malta’s Grand Harbour and the Bay of Naples.
