A rare pair of elegant and unique mahogany and gilt armchairs designed by Gianni Versace, part of the 1994 Vanitas Furniture collection. The front legs have columnar shaping and taper down to the floor. The back legs are gracefully splayed and outlined in gilt finish. The chairs are upholstered in a luxurious striped rich yellow fabric. Gold leaf decoration is applied to the carved mahogany on the curved scrolled arms, seat back, apron and legs. The rounded arms terminate at the back in the stylized fleur-de-lys.
