A pair of well cast and chased Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912), bronze lamps. The circular vase shaped body has twin decorative handles. The body of the vase is decorated in the round with applied bronze reliefs showing birds, flowers and mythical animals. The ‘vase’ sits on a circular tripod shaped ‘stool’ with a lion’s masks on the top of each leg. The stool sits on a further decorated stepped bronze base. Meiji period circa 1900.
