A farming scene depicting a man sitting side-saddle on his white horse with a riding crop in his left hand. There are actually two horses (he sitting on one) and likely they are pulling a cart through a river stream. The rather dark foreground is set against a cloudy but colourful sunset sky. A barnlike building is shown on the upper right hand side of the painting some distance behind the bank of the stream.
