Louis XVI style Gilt and Patinated Bronze Nine Light Chandelier
The chandelier hangs from three gilded bronze decorated chains connecting three ‘large’ gilded goat’s heads, a band of flowers near the top rings the three chains. The three goat’s heads support an ovoid shaped patinated and gilded bronze ‘urn’ from which a gilded basked and gilded flower sprays germinate from the top. The urn supports six lower scrolling candle arms, each pair joined with a gilded swag, and between each pair of arms are three higher scrolling arms. The top of the urn is also decorated with gilt bronze heads of maidens. The combination of the patinated bronze urn and the rest of the gilded bronze is very effective. French circa 1920.
