Ormolu and Porcelain Putti Clock
A French Napoleon III ormolu and porcelain putti mantle clock in gilded bronze with inset painted porcelain plaques. The central painted oval plaque showing a musician/composer, possibly Schubert. The additional plaques show flowers in gilded borders, and a cherub playing a harp. The white enamel dial rests on a waisted clock plinth on each side of which is a gilded cherub playing a musical instrument. On top of the clock is a mount depicting a musical score and musical instruments. The original movement has a steel string suspension system ringing the hours and halves on a bell.
