Louis XV Style Marquetry and Ormolu Mounted Bombe Chest Of Drawers
A very fine example of Louis XV style furniture made in the late 19thC in Paris. The oak carcass is veneered in kingwood and amaranth and inlaid with floral designs on the front. There is a inlaid radiating pattern of kingwood framed in amaranth on both sides of the chest. There are two long drawers below a shaped bresch d’alep marble top; the front of the chest is lavishly covered in fine ‘rococo’ style gilded bronze mounts including the drawer handles and the sabots on the curved front legs. Made in France circa 1880.
