A large emblematic oil on canvas titled “Calf and a Yearling” executed in 1987 by Nova Scotia based aryisat Lindee Climo.

Born in Massachusetts but raised on a ranch in California Lindee grew up surrounded by purebred Suffolk sheep and an assortment of beef cattle, rabbits and birds. At a very young age she taught herself how to paint with animals as her main subject and asa teenager she studied art specialising in medical illustrations.

In 1970 at 22 years of age Lindee moved with her new Canadian husband who she met while travelling to New Brunswick Canada where he was from. After some time in New Brunswick, she and her husband moved to Prince Edward Island and lived and worked with animals for many years while Lindee went to Art School and quickly started to establish herself as an artist.

She has been exhibiting her work across North America since 1975 with her unique style and focus of executing trademark canvases featuring finely rendered farm animals. Climo’s work is included in the Collections of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Acadia University, the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Department of External Affairs and Scotiabank.
