$12,000.00

A magnificent large scale 19thC French “bleu celeste”and gold Sevres porcelain vase mounted with decorative gilt bronze handles and gilt bronze base. The ‘bleu celeste’ coloured porcelain was used extensively by Sevres in the 18th and 19thC. The inside base of the vase is marked with the Sevres interlacing ‘L’s and also bears the capital letter L. This letter marks the date of manufacture on 18thC pieces and was often copied on 19thC pieces. The large painted front cameo shows three young persons, a man kneeling and fishing along a stream accompanied by a kneeling young woman on his right and a standing woman behind them. The vase is mounted so that it can rotate to show a back cameo which shows the same landscape and stream but with no figures.
