Roman Youth Holding a Scroll
A Restauration period clock in gilded bronze showing a seated classically draped youth sitting atop the clock case holding a lyre in one hand and a scroll in the other. The rectangular lower section of the case is decorated with wreaths and musical instruments. The gilded dial has painted Roman numerals and black breguet hands and is signed Rossel a Rouen. The original silk-string suspension movement rings the hours and halfs on a bell.
