A rare and highly unusual carved wood, gesso and gilded mirror frame in the full French Napoleon III style. The gilded frame itself is totally decorated with cartouches and is further embellished with three applied carved wood and gilded
elements, two on the bottom featuring winged cupids holding up drapery, and the top larger element shows another cupid amoung leaves and flowers holding a flambeau and quiver in the Rococo manner. Made in France circa 1870.
