A gilded metal and crystal chandelier of classical design typical of fixtures from the 1920’s made by the company Bagues in Paris, the leading lighting firm during the first half of the 20thC. The central stem supports four tiers of decorative arms, the three upper tiers sweep down and up ending in graduated beaded ‘obelisks’ The lower tier of six candle lit arms have large gilt metal bobeches pierced all round to hold a single crystal which are lit from within the bobeche. The top and bottom of the central stem also have a large bobeche like bowl lit from within like the others. The whole hung with clear and amber coloured cut crystals.
