Cathedral Clock and Garniture
A French mantle “cathedral” clock and garniture in the Gothic-style, circa 1845. The three pieces are of finely chased and gilded bronze; the clock is cathedral shaped with it’s reticulated columns, tracery, mouldings and side ‘windows’. The clock has a silvered dial and it’s original silk string suspension movement ringing the hours and halves on a bell. The striking mechanism also activates a decorative bell on top of the ‘church’ steeple.
