A large Museum quality Victorian family portrait of three kneeling or seated boys fondly gathered around a little baby girl toddler seated on a blanket in front of a bucolic landscape backdrop.. One of the boys is holding a standing squirrel in his hands to the obvious amusement of the other two boys and especially the toddler. .
The paining which is presented in a carved giltwood period frame, is not signed but the artist appears to to have been influenced by the late 18 century portraiture of Henry Raeburn. One of the boys in the Red jacket bearsa striking resembvlance to a portrait of the Children of Professor Dugold Stewart held i the collection of the National Trust.
