A Magnificent Louis XV style Patinated and Gilt Bronze Urn

A magnificent large French XV rococo style patinated and gilt bronze urn. The fluted body of the urn, (almost ewer shaped) is of patinated bronze, the flutes inset at the top and bottom with gilded bronze flowers, swags and acorns and bull rushes. The top of the urn is covered with scale work and the bottom is mounted entirely with rococo swags resting on three rectangular feet. The quality of the casting, chasing and gilding is of the highest quality. Made in France in the last half of the 19thC.
