A 19thC Portrait of a Gentleman in the Manner of Rubens


A 19thC portrait of a gentleman painted in the manner of Rubens. The young man with flowing long hair is shown from the waist up and dressed in very elaborate court finery. He is presented against a dark background with his white lace and red ribbons showing him off. There is a second gentleman standing behind him that could be his personal valet. The painting has a carved wood plain frame and is not signed. Likely English circa 1850.
