Victorian Papier Mache Chairs
A pair of superb quality early Victorian papier mache chairs; having pierced lobed spoon backs, the centre back splat richly decorated in water gilding, mother of pearl, imitation diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. This pair almost certainly made by the firm Jennens and Bettridge. The seats upholstered in gros point tapestry showing leaves and various colourful flowers. England circa 1850.
