Swiss Mid-century Table Clock and Cigarette Case by Luxor, 1950s
Unusual Lux combination table clock and cigarette holder from the early 1950s still in working order. This brass antique desk or side table clock would make a fine addition to a vintage clock collection or look wonderful in any Mid Century decor. The clock face is set into a world globe shape surrounded by a band with six stars. The base also has a compartment originally for cigarettes or it could be used as a holder for change or other bits.
This Lux clock is in good vintage condition with some minor scratches and tarnish in keeping with its 60 years of aging. The time setting knob tends to be loose and falls off but does work to move the hands. It is still in working order and keeps good time. The face reads Made in U.S.A. and the back reads Lux Clock Mfg. Co. Waterbury Conecticut.Brass and glass. Thick beveled front glass. 8 days movement. Measures: Height 5.9″(15cm), width 5.9″(15cm), depth (open) 3.9″(10cm).
