Empire Mahogany Clock by Maniere and Pabst
A fine and rare example of a mahogany and gilt bronze French Empire/Directoire regulator mantel clock; the circular white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, the dial and backplate signed by the noted clock maker Maniere; the movement contained within a glazed rectangular case with molded rectangular cornice and base outlined in finely chased gilded bronze; resting on gilded lions paw feet; the case is also stamped by the ebenist Pabst who supplied furniture to the royal families. French circa 1800.
