Pair Of Round Empire style Tables
A matched pair of French Empire style circular occasional tables in mahogany and gilded bronze. The dark grey veined marble top sits on a mahogany skirt and column the lower end of which has a decorative gilded bronze collar. The column sits on a tri-form base terminated in small bun feet. This type of table was very popular in France in the early 19thC under Napoleon. They were almost entirely made of mahogany and often very lavishly decorated with gilded bronze. French late 19thC.
