Robert Burns (25 January 1759Â â 21 July 1796), was an 18 Century Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet Â of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide.Â He is regarded as a pioneer of theRomantic Movement and after his death he became a great source of inspiration to the founders of both liberalism and socialismÂ and a cultural icon in Scotland and around the world. The sculptor Hans Muller was born in Vienna Austria1873. he was a pupil of Edmund Hellmer at the Vienna Academy of Art and is best known for his busts of famous Viennese Society. This bust was probably cast around 1910 at the height of the At Nouveau movement evident in the lines of the bust.
